Advanced English Proficiency Test ("AEPT", "we", "our", or "us") is a mobile application
developed by the AEPT team. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store,
and protect your personal information when you use the AEPT mobile app
(Package ID: com.aeptest.app) and our backend services hosted at
aept.remoud.com.
By using AEPT, you agree to the terms described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree,
please uninstall and discontinue use of the application.
2. Permissions We Use & Why
AEPT requests the following device permissions. We only request what is strictly necessary for the app to function.

Camera (android.permission.CAMERA)
Used exclusively during official proctored exam sessions to verify your identity and
monitor for academic integrity. Camera access is only active during an active exam
session. No video is recorded or stored permanently; frames are used for real-time
presence detection only.

Microphone (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO)
Used exclusively in the Speaking section of the English proficiency test. Your audio
responses are recorded locally on your device and uploaded securely to our servers
for evaluation by our assessment system. Recordings are tied to your test session
and stored for the duration of your test evaluation.

Internet Access (android.permission.INTERNET)
Required to communicate with our backend servers at aept.remoud.com for user
authentication, fetching test content, submitting answers, processing payments,
and retrieving results and certificates.

In-App Billing (com.android.vending.BILLING)
Used to process official exam purchases securely through Google Play Billing.
Payment processing is handled entirely by Google Play. We do not store your
payment card details on our servers. We only receive a purchase token from
Google to verify your transaction.
3. Information We Collect
- Account Information: Your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash) when you register.
- Test Data: Your answers, scores, section timings, and test session metadata.
- Audio Recordings: Speaking section responses recorded during your test session.
- Payment Records: Google Play purchase tokens and order IDs for verifying official exam purchases.
- Device Information: Basic device and OS information for app compatibility and troubleshooting.
- Usage Logs: App usage logs for debugging and service improvement (anonymized).
4. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate your account and keep it secure.
- To administer and evaluate your English proficiency test sessions.
- To verify in-app purchases and grant you access to official exam sessions.
- To generate and issue your verified proficiency certificate.
- To send transactional emails (e.g., test results, certificate notifications).
- To improve the accuracy, performance, and reliability of the AEPT platform.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud servers. We use industry-standard security measures
including encrypted HTTPS communication (TLS), secure JWT-based authentication, and
hashed password storage. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized systems only.
Audio recordings from your Speaking test are stored securely and accessed only for evaluation
purposes. They are not shared with third parties.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited data only with:
- Google Play: For processing in-app payments and verifying purchases.
- Cloud Infrastructure Providers: For secure hosting of the app and database (under strict data processing agreements).
- Legal Authorities: If required by applicable law or court order.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Test session data and
results are retained for a minimum of 2 years to support certificate verification.
Audio recordings are retained for up to 90 days after test evaluation is complete, after
which they are permanently deleted.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
8. Your Rights
- Request access to your personal data we hold.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and personal data.
- Withdraw consent for camera or microphone usage at any time via your device settings (note: this will prevent you from using the Speaking or Proctored Exam features).
9. Children's Privacy
AEPT is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information,
please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of
significant changes via email or in-app notification. The "Last Updated" date at the top
of this page will always reflect the most current version.
